It is raining outside
but I’m nice and snug
wrapped up in a ball
on my new rug.
The fire is lighting
and the lights are low
think I might stretch
there’s no place to go.
Wait!
What’s that sound?
Slowly I feel
my heart start to pound.
Close my eyes
and pretend to sleep.
Door opens
and I sneak a peep.
No!
I don’t want to go.
Literally,
I don’t want to go.
I did all my business
a few hours ago.
He lifts my head
to put on my lead
I try to tell him
there really is no need.
Out we go
into the wet,
much more of this
and I’ll be seeing the vet.
A dog’s life
is not always fun
especially on days
without any sun.

I can relate to it . I have a Labrador .
They are a great companion ❤❤
