Gone

When I am gone,
will you think of the time
when we were twenty-one?
Our whole lives ahead
never imagining we would be dead.

When I am gone,
will you find someone
new to lean on?
to help you get along with life,
maybe even become his wife.

When I am gone,
will you rise
at the start of the day
wiping a tear
as you start to pray.

When I am gone,
will you search for
my
name on Amazon?
Finding my book
will you buy it for luck?

When I am gone,
will you be able to carry on?
knowing it was me
who broke your heart,
and that was my plan
right from the very start.
