Anagram

I find it hard

to take a compliment

for I am never sure

whether it is meant.

Could there be

an ulterior motive

or are they being

genuinely emotive.

I always respond

with a cautious thank you,

convinced that it will

soon be withdrew.

I cannot look

them in the eye

in case they realise

it is all a lie,

for I am not

who they think I am,

and they will not solve

this human anagram.

  1. I can resonate with this. I’m sorry you feel this way too. I feel, however, if someone took the time to say something, they were indeed thinking about it. Therefore, they generally (emphasis on generally) mean what they say.

Beautiful poem here. Very honest and impactful as well!
