Drawing a Blank

My inspiration has ended up

on rocky ground

while my imagination

is nowhere to be found.

Instead my mind

is drawing a blank

like it is being held prisoner

and forced to walk the plank.

I am looking for signs

which may aid my escape,

searching hard for

any encouraging landscape

where I can let

my doubt and fears run free

so I can find the person

I always wanted to be.
