Charity Work

Millions are starving,

yet here in the West

we think it great

to cook a small little piece

and charge a thousand a plate.

Starving children

are put on television

to emphasize their plight,

but once the cameras are off

the celebrities head into the night.

Where they will  sit at a table

and critique their food,

then shower the Chef

with meaningless platitudes.

The cost of it all could feed

an African village for a year,

but that could only happen

if their charity work was sincere.
