Bereavement

I met a friend today

whose father had died,

he never mentioned him

though he had nothing to hide.

People deal with bereavement

in different ways,

to help cope with the loss

of a loved one who has reached

the end of their days.

Some like to talk

and share their memories

whilst others prefer

silence as their remedy.

No one enjoys

the grieving process

but it gives us time in

our own lives to reassess

those things we had

thought important

now that we know

our lives can be shortened.
