Come and visit me
when you’re not at your best.
Sit down here beside me
and let your troubles rest.
Tell me the things you are
afraid to tell another,
You know I will listen
for aren’t I your mother.
My life may be over but
I am always in your heart.
So, sit by my grave
and begin at the start.

I love this poem. I adapted it to one called “Grandmother” and changed her situation from “My life may be over” to “My life is not over” and sent it to my granddaughter. I’d love to have her visit me more often. She lives only 5 minutes away!!
