Twenty-Four Hour TV

Whatever may happen

can be turned

into a television drama,

real life serves up

an escape from paranoia.

Victims are forgotten

as perpetrators become stars

telling their stories

from behind jailhouse bars.

Love letters sent

from sad desperate woman

to monsters that

normal people find chilling.

Twenty-four television stations

need to be heard

so what does it matter

if the message gets blurred.

Ratings are the life blood

to these parasites

who know their target audience

are far from erudite.

Anything goes now

with no thought of morality

in this age of instant gratification

which is our reality.
