When I am feeling low
my only cure is to write,
it’s the only time when
I can show some fight.
The conflict inside
rises to the surface
and I can tell any
negative thoughts they are
serving no purpose.
Once I have them laid out
in front of me on a page
they become
the subject of my rage.
No longer do I feel the need
to beat myself with a stick
now I know
my writing does the trick.
