After you close the door
behind you
leaving the troubles
of your day outside.
Take off your coat
and scarf too
along with the mask
you use to hide.
Now on your own
you can be yourself
and not have to
care what others think.
Take a glass and bottle
from the shelf
and pour yourself
a soothing drink.
You are finally able
to breathe again
so try and not worry
about tomorrow.
Close your eyes
and rest your brain
and maybe you might
escape your sorrow.

Brilliantly written as always, but this one has an extra resonance for me. Loved it! 🖤
