I love you,
but what does it mean?
are they just words
that have become routine.
or are they
an expression of true feeling
that you aren’t
afraid of revealing.
Love has
many layers that
need to be uncovered
but there are some
we may wish
were never discovered.
Obsession and jealousy
may get in the way
if we try to force an
unrequited love to stay.
We don’t know
whether true love exists,
is it just a myth that
we are happy to see persist
in the hope that
we will find that special one
that will stay with us
when everyone else has gone.

Lovely poem ❤️

There are many ways and words to say –I love you—what matters is how it is expressed by the lover and perceived by the receiver that counts.
