Turn out the light
I think I’m finished
I’ve had enough and
now my spirit is diminished.
I’m tired of trying
to figure it all out
when I’m full of
insecurity and doubt.
My life has been taken
and pulled apart
leaving in pieces any
possibility of a new start.
My dreams have
been shredded and
any hope has gone
now I’m just waiting
for the worse to come along.
Turn out the light
I don’t want to see anymore,
I don’t need to know
what’s coming next to my door.

Great!

Strange but 50 for me was a very defining stage, a point where I determined that I needed to live a very different life. That was about the time that I started writing which gave me hope and inspiration and led to a wonderful friendship and marriage 🙂 Look on the bright side, we never know what might happen next 🙂 🙂

Like you, I only started writing in my 50th year, which came as a big surprise to me!! I’m enjoying the journey at the moment.
