Tomorrow is coming
and what it will bring
will give no reason
to rejoice and sing.

The news you have waited for
will come to your door
and you know it’s something
that you cannot ignore.

Bad news has a way
of cutting up the soul
then burying the pieces
in a dark hole,

leaving you distraught
and nowhere to go
except to sit down and
cry over an old photo.
