I Miss You

I miss

being young and climbing trees.

I miss

having no worries and being free.

I miss

the time that has gone by.

I miss

the fun and the blue sky.

I miss

you telling me what I did wrong.

I miss

the times when I was strong.

I miss

your smile and all its charm.

I miss

you crying and falling into my arms.

I miss

the Christmases that we shared.

I miss

the dinners that we prepared.

I miss

waking up and laughing with you.

I miss

the silly things that you would do.

I miss

the nights we would sit and talk.

I miss

the beaches where we would walk.

But most of all

I miss your touch.

My heart is now broken

I miss you so much.

  1. With your heart on your sleeve, you write so poignantly. Makes me feel especially grateful for my spouse if 56 years- and the love we share. I hope 🤞🏼 you find a soulmate to fill that empty spot. ❤️🤗

  2. Thank you for this poem. It expresses the feelings I believe we all feel at different times in our lives. I am acutely aware that there are times and people that I have lost and that I miss. When poetry is accessible to the average man, it can resonate and evoke powerful feelings for the masses. Your poetry does just that.
    Go well my friend.
